181 Research Methodology 2 credits
In this course students will learn how to write successful academic papers. They will be taken through the steps of note taking, formulating the paper, writing a draft, revising it and preparing bibliographies and footnotes. They will also be made aware of some of the Islamic resources available in English.

182 Computer Literacy 3 credits
This introductory course will assist students to be able to use the computer in the following areas: operating systems, application software, computer peripherals, and online resources.

381 Western Philosophy 2 credits
This course will help the students understand the logical progression of philosophical problems and shed light on the work of Plato, Kant and several other western philosophers.

382 Psychology of Education 3 credits
This course addresses issues related to student’s motivation, cultural diversity, human development, and ways of knowledge acquisition, as well as methods of individual measurement and evaluation.

383 Teaching Methodology 2 credits
This course teaches the essentials for potential teachers. It includes a comprehensive look at the core methods of teaching, the qualities of an effective teacher, teaching goals and objectives, instructional strategies, classroom management, including discipline and order, as well as an overview of the assessment of student achievement.
